Hearing Impaired
Closed Captions
Closed Captions (CC) sessions allow guests to view text and sound descriptions privately using a small personal display device. This device can be used from any seat, giving guests full flexibility when choosing where to sit. Devices are subject to availability, and you may be asked to provide ID when borrowing equipment. To locate a Closed Caption session, look for the CC icon next to the session times.
Open Captions
Open Captions (OC) sessions allow guests who are deaf or living with hearing loss to enjoy their favourite films with text and sound descriptions displayed on screen. Sessions run daily (excluding Wednesdays), with times rotating across mornings, afternoons and early evenings to offer greater flexibility each week. To locate an Open Caption session, look for the OPEN CAPTIONS icon next to the session times.
Infrared
Some of our cinemas use infrared transmitters that send the film’s audio directly to a receiver worn by the guest. The type of equipment available can vary across locations; at certain cinemas, hearing aid users may be offered a neck loop, while at others, headsets are provided instead. The most effective seating for this system is usually in the middle section of seats, up the back, although staff can advise on the ideal area for each cinema. To locate an Infrared session, look for the IR icon next to the session times.
Hearing Aid Loop
Some of our cinemas are equipped with a hearing aid loop, transmitting sound directly to your hearing aid. To use this feature, simply switch your hearing aid to the T switch. The most effective seating for the loop is generally in the middle section of seats, up the back, although staff can confirm the best area for each location. To locate a session supported by this system, look for the loop icon next to the session times.
Visually Impaired
Audio Description
Audio Description (AD) sessions allow guests who are blind or are visually impaired to enjoy their movie experience through spoken narration that describes settings, gestures, on-screen action and visual details that may otherwise be missed. The audio is delivered through a personal headset or neck loop, allowing you to sit anywhere in the cinema. Equipment is subject to availability and may require an ID. To find audio-described sessions, look for the AD icon next to the session times.
Mobility Impaired
Our cinemas offer wheelchair friendly spaces with companion seating. Look for the wheelchair icon when booking (excluding Gold Class). Wheelchair spaces may be available even if the session is sold out. Be sure to ask at your local cinema for availability.
